Experteer Overview
As Staff Engineer, AI, you will shape how AI powers Factorial’s core product. You’ll define AI at scale, establish spec-driven development, and build reusable AI foundations and skills. You’ll lead end-to-end initiatives, ground AI in trusted data, and ensure reliability and regulatory alignment.You’ll work closely with product, design, and leadership to embed AI as a fundamental capability. This is an impact-driven role for someone who thrives on fast delivery and customer-centric engineering in a high-trust culture.

- Lead spec-driven development for AI with measurable success criteria
- Design and implement shared AI foundations and abstractions
- Create modular AI 'skills' to automate safe workflows, especially in finance-critical contexts
- Develop evaluation frameworks for automated and human-in-the-loop quality and safety
- Shape Retrieval-Augmented Generation strategies grounded in trusted data
- Design human-in-the-loop and agentic workflows with transparency and regulatory alignment
- Own end-to-end system delivery from concept to production and continuous improvement
- Engage with customers to understand real workflows and constraints
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Leadership to embed AI in core experiences
- Mentor engineers, drive best practices, and advance AI maturity across the company
- Very solid software engineering expertise in backend and frontend
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Experience shipping real products to production
- Knowledge of APIs, cloud platforms, and system design
- Leadership in technically and culturally, elevating standards
- Ability to challenge engineering processes and drive adoption of abstractions
- Lead technical decisions and create company-wide abstractions
- Excellent English communication; Spanish knowledge is a plus
