Staff AI Engineer - API & Integrations Team (Barcelona)

Experteer Overview

You’ll define specs, design AI skills, and implement evaluation frameworks to ensure reliable, useful outputs. You’ll ground AI responses with trusted company data and balance probabilistic models with sources of truth. This role offers hands-on ownership of end-to-end systems in a fast-growing, customer-focused environment.

• Build AI-native product features guided by clear specifications and success criteria
• Design and implement reusable AI skills and capabilities for workflows and integrations
• Develop and maintain evaluation frameworks (Evals) for AI outputs using automated and human-in-the-loop methods
• Apply Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to ground AI responses in up-to-date company data
• Design human-in-the-loop and agentic workflows combining LLMs, rules, and oversight
• Own end-to-end systems from problem definition to production monitoring and iteration
• Engage with customers through calls and feedback sessions to align solutions with real needs
• Collaborate with Product and Design to embed AI in core user experiences
• Share knowledge and raise the bar by mentoring peers and contributing to AI engineering best practices

• Experience building real AI-powered systems and workflows (not just experiments)
• Proven impact from shipped projects or contributions that measurably improved outcomes
• Product-first mindset delivering complete experiences, not isolated components
• Ability to move fast and adapt; strong learning agility
• Bonus: experience with LLMs, skill-based agents, MCP or other AI protocols
• Solid software engineering fundamentals and production-grade delivery
• Knowledge of APIs, cloud platforms, and system design
