Responsibilities:
Your role as a Social Media Specialist will involve:
About the role
IE University's social media ecosystem spans 30+ accounts across multiple schools, audiences, and geographies. Managing it at this scale requires more than content instinct. It requires the ability to run a system.
We are looking for a Social Media Specialist to join the Brand Team as the operational and analytical backbone of our social media ecosystem. The role is about making the system work: owning the content calendar, managing workflows, turning performance signals into decisions, and ensuring that what gets published is consistent, on-brand, and strategically grounded.
You will report to the Social Media Manager and work closely with the rest of the Marketing department, as well as a wide network of internal and external stakeholders, including students, alumni, faculty, partners, and external collaborators. This is a role at the intersection of many conversations, and it requires someone who can navigate them all.
Social media, and marketing more broadly, is going through a period of deep transformation. AI is reshaping how content is produced, distributed, and measured. Platforms are changing. Audience behaviors are shifting. We are looking for someone who gets that this is not business as usual, and who is excited to operate inside that change, not resist it.
What you will do:
Project management, calendar and workflow- Own the content calendar across all accounts, ensuring it reflects institutional priorities, platform strategy, and brand narrative
- Structure and manage the intake of content requests from across the institution, filtering, prioritizing, and converting them into actionable briefs
- Coordinate content production between internal creators and external social media partners, managing handoffs, briefs, timelines, and delivery quality
- Maintain the governance logic: what requires approval, what is pre-approved, and when to escalate
- Ensure publishing and scheduling runs on time across platforms using our social media management tools
- Act as the operational interface between social media and the rest of the institution, and coordinate with the paid media team so organic and paid strategies stay connected
- - Operate a continuous measurement loop across the ecosystem, tracking performance across accounts, platforms, and content types in an ongoing way, not just in periodic reports
- Identify patterns: what formats work, which narratives land, where there are gaps between ambition and output
- Translate performance signals into concrete recommendations for the content calendar and platform strategy, in coordination with the Brand and Digital teams
- Monitor platform algorithm changes and surface relevant shifts to the team
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
What we are looking for
Experience & education- Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from a top university required, preferably in communications, marketing, business, or related fields
- 3 to 5 years of experience in social media management, digital project management, or content operations, in a complex, multi-brand, or high-volume environment
- Demonstrated experience managing content calendars and coordinating production across multiple stakeholders and teams
- Experience working with external creative or social media partners
- Deep working knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok: how their algorithms work, what content performs, and why
- Hands-on experience with social media management platforms (Sprinklr experience is a plus) and project management tools
- - Data-driven: you read performance signals fluently and use them to shape decisions, not just to report results
- Structured and organized: you manage a complex, multi-account ecosystem without losing track of details or deadlines
- Always on the edge of what is happening in social media: trends, formats, emerging platforms, creator dynamics, cultural conversations, and genuinely curious about where the space is going next
- Fluent with AI tools across workflows, from content ideation and editing to data analysis, reporting, and process automation
- Strong communicator in Spanish and English: you write clear briefs, give useful feedback, and hold productive conversations with partners and stakeholders
- Operationally sharp: you understand that speed matters and design processes that enable it, not block it
- Adaptable and proactive: you absorb shifting priorities without losing momentum, surface problems early, and bring proposals, not just status updates
Unleash your full potential and make an impact. The next move is yours!
