As Backend Tech Lead, you will architect and implement scalable backend solutions while remaining an active coder, with no people management duties. You will drive AI integration across platforms in the AWS ecosystem, maintaining high standards of code quality and architectural clarity.You champion TDD, DDD, and Clean Architecture, using precise diagrams to communicate complex designs. This role combines hands-on coding with strategic architectural direction to ship reliable, secure systems. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to shape product outcomes and technical strategy.

- Architect and write scalable backend code in AWS-centric systems
- Promote AI integration across multiple projects and product areas
- Define high- and low-level backend architecture diagrams
- Ensure data security and compliance for sensitive information (PHI)
- Enhance observability, performance, and system stability
- Collaborate with frontend leadership at a high level on cross-functional priorities
- Contribute to architectural governance and code quality via TDD, DDD, and Clean Architecture
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience
- 2+ years in a lead or architect role
- Deep expertise in the AWS ecosystem
- Proven experience with Testing and TDD
- Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Secure-by-design mindset for data protection and PHI
- Experience with observability and performance monitoring
