As Capital Equipment & Process Standards Director you lead global engineering standards for can making equipment, materials, and capital projects. You drive a scalable framework across Ball’s facilities to achieve operational excellence and consistent project delivery.You collaborate with procurement, suppliers, and operations to ensure robust cost control and governance of large-scale capital programs. This role offers meaningful impact by shaping manufacturing standards that support Ball’s sustainability and growth goals.
You will energize cross-functional teams and lead strategic initiatives with global reach and substantial ROI.
Compensaciones / Beneficios- Develop and deploy global process documentation for can-making technology and related materials and systems
- Set design, installation, startup, and utilization standards for can lines
- Coordinate project design standards for capital investments ranging $200M–$400M
- Establish standards for capital budgeting and budget control
- Lead governance to ensure accurate cost estimation and budget tracking
- Prepare and manage annual global capital budget (> $150M) and track portfolio progress
- Collaborate with Capital Procurement and suppliers to review specifications and enforce OEM change control
- Oversee trials/workflows to assess operational readiness with operations, suppliers, and Ball Operational Excellence
- Create global specifications and change management for direct materials (e.g., lacquers, inks, varnishes)
- Provide engineering support to regional and joint venture teams
- Work with Operational Excellence to adopt and deploy best practices as global standards
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of engineering leadership experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing technology in a global manufacturing environment (preferably beverage can manufacturing)
- Minimum 7 years of experience generating business cases/ROI, technology selection, and vendor management
- Working knowledge of purchasing, contracts, licenses, accounting, depreciation, capitalization, ISO, auditing, insurance, and contract negotiations
