As Lead Data Scientist in the GenAI, Search, and Personalization group, you own the end-to-end delivery of AI-powered search and discovery capabilities. You will shape scalable, production-grade search systems and drive measurable business impact through advanced retrieval, ranking, and content discovery.You’ll lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and editorial teams to deliver cohesive, high-performance experiences. This role offers hands-on leadership with a focus on robust, scalable AI search infrastructure and innovative techniques like semantic and vector search, RAG, and LLM-powered discovery.
Compensaciones / Beneficios- Own end-to-end delivery of search and discovery data science initiatives from problem framing to production deployment and monitoring
- Establish and evolve relevance and evaluation frameworks with clear success metrics
- Design and scale retrieval and ranking pipelines for production reliability
- Partner with engineering to build scalable, maintainable platform components for search
- Collaborate with product and editorial stakeholders to translate requirements into discovery experiences
- Coordinate with GenAI and Personalization leads to align discovery strategies
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data scientists for experimentation and production readiness
- Identify opportunities to enhance search capabilities and shape the long-term AI-driven roadmap
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 4-7 years of industry experience in applied ML, search, or information retrieval
- Strong expertise in modern search systems, ranking, and large-scale retrieval architectures
- Hands-on experience with semantic, vector, and hybrid search; familiarity with embedding models and RAG
- Deep experience applying ML/LLM techniques to discovery, recommendation, or retrieval
- Advanced Python programming and experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, and related tooling
- Experience designing experimentation/evaluation frameworks for search quality (offline and online)
- Production ML deployment experience on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and with containerization/orchestration
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; proven leadership and mentorship
