• Define and own the overall architecture of the substation monitoring platform across hardware, firmware, software, and data layers
• Design edge-to-cloud integration with secure communication, scalable data pipelines, and deployment flexibility
• Lead system-level trade-offs on performance, cost, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Create architectural documents and models to guide multiple technical teams
• Align architecture decisions with product goals, customer needs, and operational constraints
• Develop a forward-looking platform strategy for AI/analytics integration and evolving grid needs
• Translate customer needs into system-level requirements and interface specs
• Define system capabilities for continuous monitoring of transformers, breakers, switchgear, and instrument transformers
• Ensure platform components run efficiently in local and distributed environments
• Specify sensor integration, diagnostic algorithms, and edge data processing for real-time health assessments
• Participate in product discovery and prototyping, including field visits
• Align design with IEC 61850, IEEE C37, DNP3, MODBUS standards
• Integrate sensor data, asset models, and diagnostics across edge and cloud
• Support validation and field testing with asset experts for robustness
• Establish patterns for modular deployment, secure access, update mechanisms, and multi-tenant cloud operations
• Manage decisions around Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services (AWS, Azure)
• Collaborate with asset and reliability engineers to deliver real-time dashboards, alarms, and predictive insights
• Contribute to asset lifecycle insights including predictive maintenance and anomaly detection
• Maintain awareness of customer operations and asset usage to inform product direction

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field; master’s preferred
• Strong experience in system architecture or complex industrial/energy product development
• Proven experience with hybrid deployments on-premises and cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Track record of building hardware-software systems in harsh or critical environments
• Understanding of systems decomposition and cross-domain interface definition
• Demonstrated leadership coordinating across cross-functional teams
• Experience in new product development from concept to release including field trials
• Clear communication of architecture and trade-offs to technical and executive audiences
• Fluent in English
