Senior Process Engineer (f/m/d)

The role blends hands-on process engineering with strategic project execution to meet business needs. You will mentor engineers, transfer processes, and provide 24/7 operations support, contributing to Lonza’s mission to improve lives worldwide.

• Develop technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes
• Identify or evaluate new technology or equipment that improves cost, time, or yield
• Design, implement and commission projects to improve safety, quality, cost and capacity
• Lead Process Engineers, Junior Process Engineers, and contractors on projects
• Ensure cGMP and safety compliance throughout capital project execution
• Oversee installation qualification (IQ)
• Collaborate with Production, MSAT, Quality, Program Management to resolve issues
• Mentor Trainees and Process Engineers/Junior Process Engineers
• Provide SME support for process equipment design, deviations investigations, audits and inspections
• Assist with tech transfer of new processes
• Deliver 24x7 support on a rotating on-call basis to manufacturing operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Degree or MSc in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Process Engineer in biotech
• Fluent in Spanish and English (business)
• Broad SME knowledge of mammalian unit operations (CIP/SIP, Chromatography, UFDF, Bioreactors, Centrifugation, HVAC, Utilities)
• Extensive design and operation experience of Biopharmaceutical facilities (manufacturing and support systems)
• Project management and coordination experience in an industrial setting
• Experience with fluid processing (pumps, valves, piping, tanks, transfers)
