Global Head of Technical Claims and Exposure Management

Experteer Overview

You will head the Claims Practice community, oversee major event responses, and serve as a strategic partner to business units to deliver risk-informed outcomes. The role offers global scope, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to shape AXA XL’s claims capability at scale.

• Globally monitor a portfolio of large, complex losses and exposures, promoting best practices and ensuring compliance with early warning and large loss protocols
• Provide insights on watchlist developments and emerging risks/trends to senior stakeholders
• Develop and govern the Large Loss Framework and ensure cross-unit consistency in claims handling
• Lead roundtables/strategy on high-severity claims and coordinate with the Chief Claims Officer for approvals
• Act as Strategic Business Partner to GCUO Leadership with portfolio insights and support strategic initiatives
• Lead investigations into exposures and responses to large loss and cat events across borders
• Oversee Major Event Management responses (MERC) and contribute to post-loss analysis and lessons learned
• Lead the Global Practice community and drive cross-functional collaboration, sharing lessons learned and guiding post-loss analytics

• Extensive claims experience across multiple lines (Property/Casualty/Specialty/Financial Lines) with complex claims handling
• Experience in Major Event/Catastrophe and Exposure Management including identification, tracking, and analysis
• Robust knowledge of multi-jurisdictional insurance coverage law and claim regulations
• Strategic leadership experience across diverse teams and geographies
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills across functions and senior leadership
• Fluent in English; additional European language (e.g., French or German) desirable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
