Material Manager

Experteer Overview

You will work with Navy systems to keep materials moving on schedule and support mission-critical maintenance operations.

• Identify and coordinate procurement orders for planned and emergent material requirements
• Provide technical research and logistical support to maintenance planning teams
• Review contractor material requirements for accuracy and adherence to procedures
• Verify funding availability and budget execution before procurement
• Track and expedite material shipments to ensure timely delivery
• Liaise with FLC to manage warehouse space for FDRMC
• Assist contractors in sourcing materials from Federal Supply System when COTS is insufficient
• Coordinate disposal of excess material and prioritize use of surplus
• Maintain rotatable pool of Long Lead Time Material (LLTM) to meet mission needs
• Track material in Navy Maintenance Database (NMD) and MRQT systems
• Oversee turnover of Depot Level Repair (DLR) material to designated personnel
• Maintain working knowledge of MRQT, Fedlog, Logiquest, Haystack, OneTouch, and NMD

• Proven experience in material management, procurement, and logistics support in a military/defense context
• Familiarity with NMD, MRQT, Fedlog, Logiquest, and related systems
• Ability to manage procurement processes and ensure funding is available
• Knowledge of DLR material management and turnover processes
• Strong organizational and communication skills for coordination with contractors, teams, and logistics centers
• Experience tracking and expediting shipments under tight deadlines
