As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Helsing, you will design robust mechanical mechanisms and electromechanical assemblies for advanced robotics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with electrical and software systems, while optimizing for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
You will prototype, test, and iterate designs, using simulations to verify reliability and safety. This role offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge robotics in a mission-driven environment that balances technical excellence with ethical considerations.

You will help push state-of-the-art robotic capabilities while supporting responsible autonomy in defence tech.

Design and develop mechanisms, systems, and electromechanical assemblies for robotic applications, including structures, actuators, and motion systems
Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs
Prototype, test, and iterate designs to meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements
Analyze specifications, materials, and manufacturing methods to meet functional and production objectives
Use CAD tools (SolidWorks) to create detailed designs, 3D models, and drawings
Participate in design reviews and contribute innovative improvements
Conduct simulations, stress analysis, and FEA to ensure reliability, durability, and safety
Provide technical support during product development and manufacturing processes
Stay updated with robotics and mechanical design developments to incorporate cutting-edge tech

Responsabilidades

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred
3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably robotics or automation
Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks)
Strong understanding of mechanical principles (statics, dynamics, material properties)
Experience with FEA, simulations, and mechanical stress analysis tools
Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
Familiarity with manufacturing processes (CNC, 3D printing, sheet metal, injection molding)
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team
Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
Experience with robotics, automation, or mechatronics is highly desirable
