Experteer Overview

You’ll shape industry benchmarks in design practice and mentor senior designers while representing Dow Jones at events. This is a strategic IC role with broad visibility and a direct link to business outcomes.

• Set design strategy across multiple product areas and their platform connections, engaging with SLT, ELT, and C-suite to shape direction
• Influence executive leadership by presenting thoughtful product platforms that create competitive advantage
• Lead company-wide strategic projects requiring alignment across products, platforms, and business units
• Identify company-wide opportunities through cross-product visibility to inform multi-year strategy
• Establish design practices and frameworks that become industry benchmarks and share approaches externally
• Solve highly ambiguous challenges by creating new approaches that set standard practices
• Shape platform evolution to enable value for users and executives across products
• Develop senior design talent and advise executives on design leadership, fostering inclusive decision-making
• Set and embody quality standards to maintain excellence across products, markets, and platforms
• Build external partnerships to enhance capabilities and elevate Dow Jones as a design leader

• 10+ years of product design experience with strategy setting for complex, multi-product organizations
• Portfolio showing strategic impact at scale and measurable business value over multiple years
• Proven track record working with C-level executives and influencing company-wide decisions
• Experience setting design strategy for multiple product areas simultaneously
• Excellence in platform thinking with patterns that become organizational standards
• Thought leadership through speaking, publications, or recognized design excellence
• Experience solving unprecedented challenges with new design methods or frameworks
• Strong business acumen connecting design to multi-year outcomes and market dynamics
• Experience building design capabilities at scale, including governance and talent development
• Proven ability to navigate organizational complexity across geographies and cultures
• Deep expertise across design disciplines with ability to coach and set standards
• Bachelor's in Design, HCI, or related field (advanced degree strongly preferred)
