In this role you lead technical and commercial due diligence for energy storage, solar + storage, and hybrid portfolios, supporting financing, sales, and acquisitions. You integrate engineering, financial, and environmental inputs to deliver high-quality advisory reports for lenders, developers, and investors.You engage with clients and senior stakeholders to clarify risks and drive bankable outcomes, while mentoring junior staff and shaping UL Solutions’ advisory practice.
Compensaciones / Beneficios- Lead technical due diligence reviews for energy storage and solar+storage projects, supporting financing, acquisition, and development
- Review and interpret project contracts (EPC, BSA, interconnection, PPA, O&M, LTSA, major supply agreements) for technical and commercial risks
- Analyze and validate financial models (CAPEX, OPEX, warranties, degradation, performance) and key drivers
- Evaluate energy use cases, operating profiles, and dispatch strategies for alignment with capabilities and market conditions
- Produce TDD reports with clear conclusions and recommendations; integrate multidisciplinary input
- Collaborate with Project Managers to align technical work with scope, schedule, and budget
- Engage with clients, lenders, and developers; present results and manage relationships
- Identify project risks and mitigation strategies; apply lessons learned and best practices
- Support business development through proposals and strategic client outreach
- Represent UL Solutions at conferences, contributing to renewables thought leadership
- Mentor junior staff and share expertise across disciplines
- Contribute to improving internal tools, templates, and methodologies for due diligence
- Occasionally travel (<10%) for conferences and client deliverables
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or related industries (technical advisory, developer, or lender environment)
- Proven experience reviewing contracts and financial models for energy infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of project finance concepts, risk assessment, and bankability
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how technical/contractual factors affect project economics
- Proven client-facing delivery experience with senior stakeholders
- Mentorship ability and willingness to share expertise across the organization
- Familiarity with European market, policy, and regulatory trends in energy storage
- English required; additional language skills (Polish, Spanish, Italian, German) of high interest
- Knowledge of Python, SCADA and cybersecurity would be a plus
